After about 1 year of existence, we have lost our home at 212 syed alwi road. We had an amazing time during our existence but the constant struggle of managing an independant space was always there. We’ve lost the battle to financial problems,police,authorities and the landlord. We’re moving on because the fight was not worth it, our rent was $4000 a month.

BLACKHOLE 212 still exist as a collective doing shows and events! check out our radio show and upcoming gigs.

Hi all!

Please note that ALL gig/event organisers at blackhole are required to apply for a One-off Public Entertainment License through the MDA website for ALL shows starting June 2010. please print a hard copy of the approved license and have it available during your show!

…we know that it is sort of a tedious process to do this but we are left with no choice but to enforce this in light of the recent police presence at blackhole212 shows.

the 2nd floor unit right above blackhole212 (212 syed alwi road) is available for rent.
the unit is 1.5k sq ft (the size of blackhole from the wall behind the drumset to the main entrance at the backalley) and has a balcony. there are rooms and partitioning. it is going for 2k/mth negotiable.

perfect for: office, recording studio etc.

(literally) hundreds of young musicians come to blackhole every weekend (and some weekdays too) so the location would be perfect for a recording studio or music-related business. the unit is minutes away from 24-hour mall Mustaffa and is surrounded by droves of 24-hour establishments. located along jalan besar road, it is incredibly convenient and centralised. nearest MRT stations are lavender (east-west line) and farrer park (north-east line).
